The Things I Focus on At This Stage of My Life

Life has several stages that we go through. There is early childhood, teenage years, early adulthood, young adulthood, mature adulthood, and then there is the sunset of your life where you enjoy it with no worries. Each stage requires you to focus on different things in order to get the life you want. As a child, my focus was on learning and just being an active kid. As I got older in my grade school years, my focus was on doing well in school, activities and learning to interact with others. As a teenager and a college student, my focus was on finding my direction in life and starting to figure out the world. As a young adult, my focus was working, developing a skill set to carry me through my earning years and finding a suitable mate. Now at 57 in my mature adulthood, my focus is totally different than ever. I am well socialized; I have a very developed skill set in sales and I have a beautiful wife. I have a few years to go (God willing) before the sunset years, but I am already planning. So what do I focus on now? What matters the most to me at this period in my life.

  1. My Faith in God. This is of utmost importance to me because without my faith in God, I never would have persevered through the tough times and adversity in my life. And in hindsight, they weren’t really tough times, they were preparation for my true purpose. They were the lessons I had to learn in order to fulfill my true assignment on his earth.
