How To Get in Shape After 50
Getting in shape can be tough at any age but getting in shape after 50 can be a Herculean task. Let’s face it, your body is different. Your metabolism is slower, it doesn’t recover as fast and your muscles don’t grow as fast as they used to. Mentally, you feel like it’s impossible to reach your goals. But all is not lost, you are closer than you think.
First, you have to recognize that you have a problem. This is the first step to the solution. Realize that action has to be taken and devise a plan. Keep this plan really simple at first for several reasons. First, you want something that is sustainable for you and not a plan that you will quit in a few weeks. You want it to become part of your lifestyle. Second, seeing positive results and small wins will keep you excited and motivated. Lastly, simple plans are the ones that people usually stay consistent with. Consistency creates habits and habits create results.
This is a simple 90-day plan to get you started and in the habit of working out. This will create the habits that will ultimately determine the results that you can achieve after the age of 50.
