Every Choice in Life Is an Option, So I Choose Wisely
The other day I was watching a show, and I heard a character say I don’t have to do anything and that stuck with me. It stuck with me because I thought it was a juvenile thing to say but once I thought about it, I realized it was a very true statement. In life, every choice you make is an option, nothing is mandatory. You don’t have to go to school, you don’t have to shower, you don’t have to be nice to people, for you are required to do nothing. You can do or not do anything you want.
I know you are saying well if that is the case, why isn’t there chaos and anarchy just running rampant. Why would people choose to the right thing when they don’t have to? Why would anyone choose to make anything mandatory in their life? Well, there is this little thing called consequences. And as we get older and start to grow into ourselves, we decide that in order for us to live among others, there are plenty of consequences that we want to avoid. So there are certain parts of our life that we deem mandatory. Listed below are five areas of my life that I have made mandatory.
- Employment. This is a given. In order to ensure the quality of life that I want, I have to work. I choose to do something challenging and purposeful that will someday make me wealthy and philanthropic. It can sometimes be difficult, but this is my choice.
